In an interview with Cinemablend, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson is asked a direct question about whether he would have liked to have his upcoming anti-hero, "Black Adam", face Superman in an upcoming film. And the answer was almost surprisingly straightforward from the actor:
- Absolutely. That's the whole point of this one. I've been saying for a while that a new era in the DC Universe is about to begin. And what I meant by that was introducing a brand new character. It's not a sequel, not an existing IP. It was... you know, "Black Adam"! Two years ago, the world had no idea who he was. We did, but not, you know, the rest of the people out there,” Johnson explains.
Now there is hardly any ongoing project at DC around a film of this type. But if Johnson's "Black Adam" were to be a success, it would hardly surprise anyone if he got his way. And it would almost be strange if the old wrestling genes from "The Rock's" old days in the ring didn't cause the same kind of "I can win against anyone" mentality to start seeping into his new DC stay as well.

We also know from before that Henry Cavill was keen to return to the role of Superman and both actors are known to care very much about their fans... and "Black Adam vs Superman" (which of course... or hopefully isn't the title you will use) would have been fan service, so it says completely lovely. But maybe that's exactly what DC needs right now? So people forget about this whole "Batgirl" shutdown and all the other weird things that happened at Warner Bros. Discovery over the past year.
At least the first "Black Adam" movie starring Johnson opens in theaters on October 21st, then it remains to be seen what happens next.
